More Information…….
  • There is NOT a YMCA Spring or Summer League that we can join so the swimmers will be competing in LONG COURSE USA swim meets.  All meets will be held in 50 meter pools.
  • To compete at USA meets each swimmer must have a membership to USA swim.  If your swimmer is not a USA swimmer then they will need to purchase a seasonal membership for $30.00.  This membership is good through the summer season. This cost is in addition to the Geauga Otter Team fee listed below.
  • If your swimmer would like to practice but not swim at meets then you do NOT need to purchase a USA membership.
  • We will then have all the swimmers transition over to the Chardon Sharks where Coach Matt coaches for the summer.  To continue with the Chardon Sharks you will have to pay Chardon Rec.  You do not have to swim with the Chardon Sharks.  You may join any summer swim league of your choice and still swim at the meets with the Otters.
  •  You must be a member of the YMCA to swim at the YMCA.
  • Will attend the following meets as a team with a coach:
    • May 8th          50 meter pool- Season Opener at YSU Natatorium in Youngstown
    • June 12th       50 meter pool - Solon Municipal Pool
  •  Fee: $75 per swimmer.  This includes coaching salary and mileage only.   To JOIN please sign up at the YMCA front desk
  • Additional Expenses: USA Team Membership and Event Entry Fees.

Our Mission
The Geauga Y Swim Team is dedicated to the development of its athletes as lifelong swimmers. We would like all of our athletes, regardless of age or ability, to develop an appreciation for swimming that will last a lifetime. We do this by endeavoring to make swimming and learning in the pool a positive and enjoyable experience for everyone. We will make a daily effort to promote physical, social, and mental development in all of our swimmers while promoting the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.  If this is the type of environment you are looking for to develop your swimming skills, come check us out!
