Fundraising for 2008 Spring Season

We have a number of fundraisers planned throughout the year to reduce the out of pocket expenses for coaching fees, pool rental fees, and equipment and award expenses.  At this time these are the only fundraisers planned.  OUR FUNDRAISING GOAL is $5000.

 

IF you do NOT wish to participate in any of the fundraisers we request that you donate $70 to the team per family.

 

Our fundraisers for the 2008-2009 Season are:

Malley Candy Bar/Candy Sale- Candy Sales will kick off at the September 8th  Parents meeting and extend through November 30th.  Swimmers must pay for candy when you pick up the box-$36.00 per box. 

  • Swimmer Profit: $8.00 per box deposited in your escrow account.

  • General Fund Profit: $9.00 per box

  • Goal: Each swimmer sells two boxes.

 

Malley Candy Bar Sale at Giant Eagle, Tractor Supply and Walmart- October 4th from10am to 4pm.  Candy bars will not be sold from individual boxes but boxes supplied by the team.

  • Swimmer Profit: Even share of 50% of the profits for every hour worked

  • General Fund Profit: 50% of profits

 

Swim-A-Thon- On November 1st from 12pm to 4pm we will host a Swim-A-Thon for all our swimmers.  Each swimmer will be asked to seek sponsors for the Swim-A-Thon.  Prizes will be awarded for the most laps swum per age group and the most money raised overall.

·         Donation: 25% of the proceeds will be donated to a needy family for Thanksgiving or Christmas.

·         General Fund Profit: 75% of profits.

·         Fundraising goal: $50 per swimmer.

 

Car Wash at Tractor Supply- August 16, 2008 at Tractor Supply.  Donation Car Wash- Invite your neighbors and family to bring their car up for a wash.  We will also be selling hot dogs and pop.

  • All proceeds to benefit the General Fund.

  • Fundraising Goal: $250.00

 

Marco Pizza Nights- Buy Pizza from Marcos on three Tuesdays during the season and the team will get 15% of the sales. Make sure you say you are with the GEAGUA OTTERS!  Dates to be determined.  Last year we did not make much money on this fundraise, but we made just enough to pay for the pizzas when we have concession stands.

  • General Fund Profit: 100% of profits

  • Fundraising Goal: $150 dollar sales for each Pizza Day.

 Scrapbook Sales- This year we decided to buy all the supplies to make our own scrapbooks.  We are selling then for $30 each.  All proceeds benefit the General Fund.  We will be selling them at home meets.

 

Concession Sales- We will offer concession sales at our three home meets. 

  • Swimmer Profit: Even share of 50% of profits for every swimmer that brings the requested items to the concession stand.

  • General Fund Profit: 50% of profits + the cost of pizza.

  • Goal: Each family brings the requested items.

 

Corporate Sponsorships- We will be offering sponsorships for the team to businesses.  Sponsorships can be gold, silver or bronze with specific benefits for each level of contribution.  See separate form for details.  PLEASE contact Kim Marra 440-286-5634 before you approach any local business so we do not repeat visits to the same businesses.  Businesses that have been approached will be listed on the team home page. 

  • Swimmer Profit: Each individual swimmer that solicits a sponsor will receive 10% of the contribution from that sponsor. 

  • Scholarship Fund: 25% of the contributions will be deposited in the scholarship fund.

  • Corporate Fund: Remainder of the funds will be deposited in the Corporate Fund to pay team expenses.
