Practice Schedule + Fees for Fall '09/ Winter '10

We are still working on finalizing the schedule and usually post it during late August or early September, so check back then.

Generally, Urchins are offered 3 practices/week and asked to come to at least 2. Crayfish are offered 4 practices and asked to come to a minimum of 3, and Mussels are offered 5 and asked to come to at least 4. High School swimmers should attend 5 days per week.

Swim Levels and Cost

Group	Description	Cost
Cubs	This is the most novice group of the swim team. Need to swim freestyle at least one length(25 yards) of the pool without stopping. Only swim at 3 home meets. Recommended Practice – 1 Day a week	$75**
Urchins	Swimmers are generally age 7-10 and must be able to swim at least 2 lengths of pool (50 yards) without stopping. Recommended Practice – 2 Days a week	$200**
Crayfish	This group of swimmers are generally age 9-14. They must be able to swim a set of 3 x 100 freestyle. They should be able to legally swim at least 50 yards of 2 of the 3 other competitive strokes (butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke). Recommended Practice – 3-4 Days a week	$250**
Mussels / High School	This group of swimmers are generally age 13-18. They must be able to swim a set of 4 x 100 freestyle on 1:40 or better. They should be able to legally swim at least 100 yards of each of the other 3 competitive strokes. Recommended Practice – 4-5 Days a week	$290**
**These costs cover the ENTIRE season though the last Championship Meet that your swimmer qualifies for. Cub Season ends the last week of January and all other levels swim through their last Championship meet. OPTIONAL Invitational Meets and USA Swimming Meets are provided at an additional cost for each swimmer.

Many team members carpool, so if getting to or from practice or meets is an issue, don't let it stop you - send us an email or stop by practice and we will hook you up with someone!!

Geauga YMCA - The YMCA is off of Rt. 322, 6 miles east of Rt. 306 or 1 mile west of Rt. 44. See map.

Perry Community Center at Perry High School- 4325 Manchester Ave, Perry, OH 44081, USA

The pool is inside the building that is right next to the football field. It is marked Community Center. Please enter though the door closest to the football field and sign in at the desk. You will need to park in the football parking and walk to the building. Directions to Perry Community Center

Practice Guideline Reminders:

Please make sure you are on time for practice and that all the children are picked up or have a parent available at the end of practice. We do not want to pay the coaches to baby sit and they cannot leave until there is a parent to accept responsibility for all the swimmers.
The swimmers may shower at the YMCA and at Perry but please be respective of all the other guests. Behavioral problems will be referred to the parents and the parents will then be expected to accompany the swimmer in the locker room.
Coach Matt will be leaving Perry at the end of practice at 7:30 pm. Please make sure a parent is at Perry to assume responsibility for your swimmer if they plan on showering.
You may drop off you swimmer at the entrance to the YMCA, but they MUST present their card to the desk clerk and proceed directly to the pool to check in with the coach. A helpful hint: attach their membership card to their workout bag so they never forget it. The YMCA is a stickler about the cards.
You must sign in at the Perry front desk when you arrive at the facility.
If Perry School is closed due to weather then the pool will be closed.
Perry School must have fire drill practices. If a drill should occur during practice all swimmers will need to leave the building. Please carry a towel and flip flops to the deck for these occasions.
If there is lightening and thunder, both pools will be closed for 30 minutes after the last lightening sighting.
Parents may purchase a work out pass for $5 a day if you would like to work out in the Perry Work Out Room.
